Artist Statement
I am developing a language, through drawings and ceramic vessels, informed and inspired by seed pods, bones, and the spine. These pieces are subtly off kilter like the body. Clay is my mischievous collaborator.
My practice is powered by observing unseen but felt reverberations. I am compelled by archaic and ritual objects, and the energized spaces between things. Like seeds and bones they carry stories of the past and instructions for the future.
The body is a vessel and a vehicle, the spine is a channel for universal energy. Humans are conjoined with and dependent on both earth and sky. My work tells this story.
